On 31 May 2026, Kanameda sensei and our other friends at Tonan Rotary once again initiated a wonderfully meaningful event in Ninoshima—Organizing a ceremony to plant a young Aogiri near the sites where so many victims of the atomic bombing were taken to, and later perished. The generous natsumikan (Citrus x narsudaidai) gave us many seeds (pictured left), but still many fruit remaining on the mother tree (pictured right)!
On February 9th, 2026, GLH hosted its committee meeting, full of lively and fruitful discussions. Present were the GLH secretariat including coordinator Nassrine Azimi; co-founder Tomoko Watanabe; tree doctor Chikara Horiguchi; and delegates from Hiroshima Botanical Garden, Hiroshima University, Hiroshima Prefectural Government, Green Greetings team, and UNITAR.
