Our new partner, the National Institute of Technology Kure College (Kurekosen), held a planting ceremony on 17 February, spearheaded by former Hiroshima Hibaku-Jumoku Working Group member, Dr. Asami Ogura. Students, faculty, and guests joined the planting of a Kurogane holly sapling.

Ms. Tomoko Watanabe, co-founder of GLH, and Master Gardener Chikara Horiguchi made remarks. Two students also offered messages about what they had learned from the tree's resilience and their own desire for peace.
