GLH co-founder and coordinator Nassrine Azimi visited the small Ginkgo sapling at UCLA recently — it has become a robust young tree! Thanks to the Mildred E. Mathias Botanic Garden staff, for having taken such good care despite the on-going California drought.

The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), our dedicated partner, shared the new update of the second generation Ginkgo tree! You can compare to the photo taken in 2016, the sapling is growing healthy (Genki, 元気, in Japanese) under the good care of the UCLA team.
The ginkgo sapling looks frail but is actually doing well. Gardeners are relieved that the long drought over and that California is drenched in much-needed rain.
The ginkgo on UCLA's campus is growing in good health.
