We are delighted that our seeds have finally arrived safely at San Diego Botanic Garden, GLH regional hub. Seeds are now settling comfortably in the SDBG's seed bank under the expert care of GLH focal point, Joe DeWolf, Habitat Restoration Program Manager, who has been lovingly raising many Hiroshima saplings.

A big thank you to Hiroshima Botanical Garden (HBG) for sending the 2025 batch of seeds to our regional hubs, the San Diego Botanic Garden (SDBG) and the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE). Pictured left, Joe DeWolf receiving the precious package.
Dr. Ari Novy, president of the San Diego Botanic Garden and GLH scientific advisor and partner gave an online interview to the Chugoku Shimbun newspaper’s young reporters, students from middle and high schools in Hiroshima. The students asked him about his discovery of Hibakujumoku and GLH, the reason SDBG became a regional hub, his work and love of plants, and many other questions. The article was published on December 2, 2024.
