Dr. Vladimir Rouvinski, a dear friend of GLH and UNITAR who championed the planting of the first GLH trees in Columbia, visited Hiroshima recently. Pictured left, Dr. Rouvinski and Dr. Azimi in front of the Chinese Parasol, Weeping Willow, and Camphor trees. ICESI University's very own Camphor tree is healthy and growing, currently at 10 meters!

The Camphor seeds sent to ICESI University, Colombia, in 2012 now transformed into a gorgeous adult tree. Thanks to Dr. Vladimir Rouvinski, who keeps the network of greenery and the bonds between Colombia and Hiroshima alive.
The camphor on campus is now a tall and strong tree.
A second-generation camphor was planted at the new Eafit University campus in the city of Medellin, with more than 100 people participating in the ceremony. Members of the university community and participants from the Third National Congress of the Colombia International Studies Association (Redintercol) attended the ceremony.
The picture below, taken on 9 September 2013, is of saplings now accustomed to the tropical climate of Cali. The saplings are planned to be transplanted to open soil in three locations in the city: Valle del Lili Hospital, Colombo-Japanese Society, and our university. All three locations have gardeners among their staff, which is essential for this initial stage. They plan to have official ceremonies on 6 August 2014.
