Montreal local media, Montreal Gazette, covered the Hibaku sapling planting ceremony. 

"The pouring rain could not dampen the spirits of representatives from four different Montreal communities who gathered on the International Day of Peace, to honour the memory of Hiroshima with a special planting and peace pilgrimage."

February 2016:

Seeds have germinated and saplings have grown to around 15 cm.

Ginkgo seeds arrived safely and had already started germinating, so they were planted immediately. GLH partners hope to have several trees in chosen places across Montreal in 2018.
